Fingers Crossed is a punk-rock band that emerged from the music scene out of Houston, Texas. The band is guitar player and vocalist, Andrew MacLaren, guitarist, Zach Chodaniecky and bass player, Nathan Helton. The current trio, which recently disbanded its bassist and drummer, is on the verge of adding some promising new musicians to the group.

Andrew, and founding drummer and bassist, Dustin and Alfredo, spent the summer of 2008, following their graduation, writing songs together. Late that summer, they picked up Zach, and founded Fingers Crossed.

Fingers Crossed is founded upon semi-eclectic tastes. While, Zach has many hardcore influences, Andrew is much more influenced from first wave pop linkers such as Lifetime, Saves the Day, and The Drive Thru Catalog. Their self-proclaimed “Pissed-Off Pop Punk” style resonates with the sounds of New Found Glory, Blink 182, Polar Bear Club, The Get Up Kids, Brand New, and Four Year Strong. “We released our first demo EP in 2009 (We Fight Girls), a cassette in 2010 (Semester of Stress), and a 7” last November (As We Grow),” Andrew said. “And in late February, we will be releasing a split LP with Chemistry.”

Fingers Crossed will be playing at the Driver F Record Release show, in Houston, on February 24th. The following night, the band will be performing at a benefit show for Vinyl Junkie, a local Houston record store, which will be pressing their upcoming split LP. Make sure to check out Fingers Crossed at MR Fest!
