The Victory March is an indie rock and soul band, locally based out of San Marcos, Texas. The four man band not only has a jazzy musical style reminiscent of the 50’s, they definitely have the fashion to match. Usually dressed up in white and black suits crafts a timeless look for the band, and gives them that classic edge.

The Victory March takes us back to a more soulful period in time with their releases of tracks such as “Castle Walls,” and “Not Too Late.” The band’s songs create a gratifying step back in time with slow tempos, and clean licks by guitarists Colin Colby and Daniel Chapman. The Victory March also takes a funky route on the track “Angeline” with drummer Paul Adams’ upbeat tempo and fills. Front man Colin Colby goes in a different direction with the song “Broken Records” changing his vocal style from soothing to grinding. Shifting from the more acoustically driven style to a distorted sound on the song “It Gets So Bright” adds diversity to the band’s already unique musical style. The composition of The Victory March’s self-titled EP reveals different aspects of the band’s musical outlook. The Victory March deviates from the norm by having a very retro feel, and being a band that incorporates a blues like sound, breaking away from the mainstream music scene.
