The Space Crazies is a three-headed blues-rock band that hails from the music capital of Austin, Texas. The talented trio consists of lead singer and guitarist, Andrew Weber, bass master, Jack Pearl, and drummer, Davis Campbell. Their soulful sounds are influenced by the genres of rock, R&B, blues, punk rock, progressive rock, soul, hip-hop, and experimental rock. Some of their original songs include “I Got a Whole”, “Tallboy City”, “Heavy Lies the Crown”, and “The Devil’s Kind”.

The triad has been around for longer than one year. However, they have been playing together unofficially for much longer. “Andrew and I went to high school together in Dallas and have played in a lot of other bands together,” Pearl said. “Andrew and Davis used to play in a punk band together so when Davis started jamming with us, we realized that we all played really well off each other as a trio…and Andrew discovered that he had an old black man who wanted to sing hiding inside of him.”

The band is in the process of recording their first studio album. It is soon-to-be released within a few months. In addition to this, they are coordinating several other projects. “We are working on a SXSW show with White Dress and some other national bands at the Aquarium. A radio station/booking company, from Philadelphia, is hosting the event. It should be magical.”

The Space Crazies will be playing for MR Fest at the Texas Music Theater on April 26, 2012. In addition to the festival, they will be performing with several other bands at the West by West Campus—House of Guys Co Op in Austin on February 25th. They will also have a show at Hotel Vegas in Austin on March 2nd, and an event on 4/20 at the Swan Dive with Amplified Heat and Scorpion Child.
